Late last year the Ontario government announced that children under the age of 25 who are not covered by private benefits plans will qualify to receive eligible prescriptions at no cost however, those with private coverage will not. These individuals must claim their prescriptions through their private plans.

This change will begin in March 2019. Until then, OHIP+ will continue to fund most Exceptional Access Program (EAP) drugs and approximately 4,400 drugs covered by the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB)  for those under the age of 25.
